Many of us are vacillating from places of rage, shock or numbness. This Pluto Return continues to be a lesson in living with immense grief. By Pluto Return I am referring to Pluto being in Capricorn, the same sign it was in during the inception of the so-called United States. Unfortunately, for the SCOTUS to determine the 14th amendment doesn’t guarantee our right to privacy we stand to lose other freedoms predicated on the 14th such as access to contraceptives, same sex marriage, porn, interracial marriage, the privacy of making homosexual
love in your own home, and letting your kid learn another language besides English. The loss of Roe v. Wade is crushing and it is wise to speculate things will only become more unjust and violent. Where are there seeds of hope in this moment?

 

The 6 of Cups is calling us to turn to our Elders, living or dead, for insight and courage. In whatever way you commune with them, in person, through their bodies of work or in prayer. While it is true, we are living in unprecedented times there is still wisdom in the words of our deceased and living radical thought leaders. And there is strategy and praxis in past radical movements like the horizontalidad or horizontalism movement of Argentina. In 2001 the Argentinian government collapsed, millions rioted, and horizontal assemblies were created to meet community needs such as alternative health clinics, after school programs, libraries, to name a few.

 

With climate collapse, increasing rent, lack of health care and increasing inflation while corporations make billions these are strategies that will only make more and more sense for us to adopt. We are headed towards further economic collapse. The Magician is calling us to learn skills and skills share. In this card this femme person is reading about Herbal Medicine, Emergency First Response, and Feminist Theory. How do we organize in the face of avarice and state repression? Maybe it’s becoming an Abortion Doula or funding someone else to learn that knowledge. Maybe it’s organizing to be of assistance to people seeking abortion. Whatever it is, it’s definitely in the hands of the people and it’s not putting all our hopes on a fucking vote. The Magician calls us to embody our own power, to stand in our strength and utilize the resources we have to bring justice to the world.

 

We have been in a time of great loss (Death) and new beginnings. We will lose more. But our war against the state is not over. If we stand united, we have much to learn and gain. Let’s lean on our communities and reach out to people in isolation. Let’s envision and materialize how to keep our communities healthy and radically loved. Let’s learn from each other. Let’s wield power without hierarchy.
