Good morning! Today the Moon in Pisces is conjunct Neptune in Pisces. Conjunctions are when planets are close together in a chart, typically in the same sign and the planetary energies are fused together. Today is an emotionally complex and heavy day. With Saturn sitting in the same sign as the Moon or Pisces you may feel more inclined to depression or anxiety. Take it easy and take care of yourself. Listen to your needs and regulate your system. Make art, craft, write, or indulge in any creative projects you have. I drew the tarot card The Star and this indicates a need to have something to turn to for hope or idealism (Neptune). On this card is Kendra a vampire slayer who represents what Buffy is not. Where Buffy is instinctive and easy going, Kendra is premediated and serious. Kendra doesn’t have friends, doesn’t date and doesn’t have hobbies. She thinks social connections weakens the Slayer. Whereas Buffy’s friends (the Scooby Gang) help her slay demons, but more importantly give her hope and perseverance.
Why is there a collective hunger for hope right now? Firstly, we are watching Palestinians being mass executed by Israel and the United States. And that is just one genocide. There is mass murder happening in Sudan, Condo, Haiti, and China to the Uyghurs to name a few. The planet is being brutalized by consumerism, deforestation and other human impacts. This time of year is challenging for people who have lost loved ones or who have sad or lonely memories of the holidays. So in times like these how do we hold on to hope? Hope is a sacred fire we must tend to with others. We need to lean onto others. In solitude worry and nihilism festers. In community hope warms and spreads. Talk to your loved ones. Engage in mutual aid efforts. Participate in protests. Spend time with the Youth or the Elderly. Love your fur babies. Go out in nature. Hope is a risk we take, a dream that what is could be replaced by what could be. Take the risk.
